Remembering Emma Grace - 7/8/07-8/2/07

  • Aug. 13th, 2007 at 9:00 PM

From Dallas's Message to Family Members the day after Emma's Passing:

Our little precious Emma Grace was taken home by the Lord yesterday around 5pm. She's had a rough past week, and she acquired a new systemic infection that got into her bloodstream and caused septic shock and massive hypotension.

Her blood pressure plummetted and doctors tried everything they could to fix the situation but nothing seemed to work. Without blood pressure, her kidneys were unable to filter out the extra fluid they were giving her to increase her pressure and wasn't able to get rid of the potassium that they usually do. The fluid had nowhere to go but into her skin and into open spaces in her abdomen. Emma fought long and bravely but in the end just couldn't fight anymore. Her potassium was just too high and her heart slowly stopped beating.

Elizabeth and I were with her at the end. We knew Emma was going to die when the doctors asked if we wanted to hold her. We've wanted to hold her for so long, but not that way. Not then.

Elizabeth held her first. I was able to hold my little girl for the first and last time as she squeezed Elizabeth's finger as if to say "It's ok mom, Jesus and Madeline need me now." We sang hymns..."Jesus Loves Me" and "It Is Well With My Soul" to her until her heart stopped beating and they turned off the respirator.

Emma suffered more in three weeks of life than most people experience in a lifetime. She didn't deserve that. She's not suffering anymore and she's with her twin sister Madeline now. Our main comfort is that we WILL see her again when this life ends and our little girls are going to be waiting for us there and to show us around heaven. I can't wait to see Emma again, this time in a body that doesn't break down, in a world that isn't full of death and sorrow and suffering and to meet little Madeline, who gave her life so her twin could live on a little longer to see her mom and dad.

Please pray for me and Elizabeth as we're disillusioned, heartbroken, and searching for answers we're not likely to find in this lifetime.

We love you Emma Grace and Madeline Elizabeth. We always will.

"On October 31, 2005, at approximately 3:13 AM in Cheyenne, WY, after leaving their Boulder, Colorado show, Bayside's tour van hit a patch of ice, skidded off the road, and flipped over. Drummer John "Beatz" Holohan was killed and Nick Ghanbarian was seriously injured. Anthony and Jack escaped with minor injuries. Bayside rejoined the "Never Sleep Again" tour, which included Aiden, Hawthorne Heights and Silverstein, on November 16th at Jannus Landing in St. Petersburg, FL, with Anthony and Jack playing acoustic sets and played through the end of the tour.

Several other bands recorded and released songs about John Beatz and his untimely death. The Sleeping, good friends and touring mates of Bayside, has a song, "Heart Beatz" on their album Questions and Answers, released in early 2006. "

Ten Minutes Earlier

  • Jul. 13th, 2007 at 3:14 PM

The show tonight is at 6:50 instead of 7 (figure east coast time out for yourself) due to the fact that I have an improv comedy show that I have to be at by 8, so I have to leave RIGHT after the show.
So it's going from 6:50 to 7:50 instead of 7 to 8.

A couple issues...

  • Jul. 13th, 2007 at 10:40 AM

Sorry about not having a decent episode for like, three days.
I didn't realize that when I was doing it 1:30 - 2:30 it was counting it as a long distance call, so it was costing me much moola, so I changed it to 7 when I got free minutes.
Except two small problems: I've never home at 7, and my computer is right in the middle of my family commerce.
I'm working on finding a spot in my house where the extra noise will be gone, but that doesn't solve the problem of me never being home.
And I don't have money to pay for the incredibly huge bill I'd have if I kept it at 1:30-2:30.
Maybe I should switch to Cricket with unlimited anytime minutes.
Because I obviously don't have the 50 dollars to buy VAC and do what I tried to do with the acoustic episode, except without the "trial" or all the screwups I was having.
Maybe I should just make it weekly, and 2 hours long, because on the weekends I have free minutes.
I'M ALWAYS WILLING TO TAKE DONATIONS OF ANY KIND. Thought or money.

Just hang in there with me.  I'll get this figured out eventually.

Acoustic episode...

  • Jul. 11th, 2007 at 7:36 PM

11.) "Yours Wasn't The First" - Self Against

Just ask if you want me to send you one or all of these.  I don't care.
I allow anonymous comments.

A couple notices...

  • Jul. 9th, 2007 at 6:35 PM

Lately I've realized that most of what I've been playing is screamo.
I'm sorry about that, and after tomorrow (the screamo episode >,<) I'm going to be making my selection a lot more diverse.

Also, the show last Friday was kind of a waste.  More like really a waste.
I had friends over and we were kind of hyper out of our minds.  Sooo sorry.
Also, like I said, I'm working on making all this better.
This is a thing I should be taking professionally, and what I did on Friday was just terrible.

AND NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT.
Unfortunately, due to long distance fees, I have to change the time of my podcast.
It is now going to be weeknights from 7-8, instead of 1:30-2:30.  Sorry if you east coast kids are asleep during that, that's when I get free minutes.   :D
So starting Thursday, it's at 7 pacific and 10 eastern.
